Our unique MedBox program features the following services for patients and families who choose Seifert Drug to be their primary pharmacy.

How It Works

Getting Started

Patient and/or family/POA supplies Seifert Drug with all pertinent information for pharmacy to set up new account.

This includes, but is not limited to Name, Address, Phone number, Date of Birth, Drug Allergies if any, Copy of Insurance Card, including Prescription benefits as well as Medicare A/B card, assignment of benefits sign off sheet, provided by the pharmacy, name of primary doctor as well as specialists, POA paperwork if any, guarantee of financial responsibility, and if available name and number of current pharmacy and prescriptions to be transferred.

Seifert Drug will establish patient and financial account at the pharmacy.

Patient is responsible for purchasing 3 Seifert Drug Custom 7 day pill reminder boxes by charging them to his/her account. Current Price is $6.95 per box plus tax. This is a one time charge if patient returns empty boxes to drop off area at facility for pharmacy to re-use box for that specific customer.

Rx Refills & Delivery

Seifert Drug will fill prescriptions in Rx vials for entire prescribed supply of medication as usual and then fill med boxes by the week.

Seifert Drug will send 2 filled med boxes to the patient at the time of the first delivery. These boxes will be delivered to a central location and a staff member from the facility will sign a delivery slip.  Every subsequent delivery, the pharmacy will pick up an empty box and deliver a full box. Pharmacy will re-use the returned med box for the same patient in the future. There is NO CHARGE for delivery.

Seifert Drug will work with your doctor(s) to obtain refills on medications if necessary.

Any questions may be directed to the pharmacist on duty at Seifert Drug. Pharmacy staff will monitor patient compliance and work with patient and physician to ensure proper self administration occurs. This is achieved when returned med boxes are used for refilling and we find doses that remain in the box. Sometimes a pharmacist consultation with the patient determines reasons for missed doses and we have experience with helping patients take their medications properly.

Seifert Drug will deliver med boxes to each patient on a weekly scheduled day.

 

Billing

Seifert Drug will bill the prescription to Rx insurance if there is one.

The co-pays for the prescriptions will be virtually the same as at any pharmacy. Sometimes there is a small difference due to the stock bottle size from the particular pharmacy, but it is usually just pennies. We file Rx claims electronically by national drug code and dispensed quantity and the insurance company sends us the price to charge the customer. The process is the same for all pharmacies.

Seifert Drug will bill the patient for their co-pay as well as $6 dollars per week med box filling fee.

We will not charge you for another actual box unless you lose or destroy a box. There will be no up-charges on any prescriptions. The co-pay will remain the same. And you will only be charged $6 for the filling fee for each box per month. If there are “as needed” medications, we will fill and send those in bottles as they should not be placed in routine box.

A detailed monthly billing statement will be sent to customer or POA, on or around the first of each month.

A self-addressed envelope will be sent along with the statement for the customer to write a check for the balance and mail it back to Seifert Drug upon receipt.
